Mauldin Road Wastewater Treatment Plant - Greenville, S.C.
Completed for the Western Carolina Regional Sewer Authority, this $59.8 M contract includes increasing the capacity of the existing Mauldin Road Wastewater Treatment Plant from 29 MGD to 70 MGD.
The project entailed installing new process equipment and converting a daily equalization basin into a bioreactor with additional cast-in-place walls, mixers, and pumps. New facilities were constructed to contain effluent filters, UV disinfection and chemical feed pumping systems, lime silo, bulk storage tank, and sidestream treatment unit. A new station in the existing headworks building handles septage and grease, and a scum-receiving station and new pumps and piping were added to the anaerobic digester facilities. Associated sitework, miscellaneous structures, and mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation were also upgraded.
