This facility provides advanced technologies and media programs for one of the fastest developing areas of study on campus.
The facility consists of creative media production spaces that include: a grand welcoming lobby/entry area that opens up directly to entry plazas and outdoor gathering spaces, a sound stage, screening room with sound mixing booth, emerging media room, Foley stage, incubator space for student-developed companies, sound mixing suites, digital media editing suites, mill shop/maker space, equipment cage, flexible classrooms and computer laboratories, faculty offices, faculty lounge and workrooms, student and faculty meeting rooms, café space, and other support spaces as required.
The design of the building recognizes the constantly evolving nature of technology (adaptable and nimble, forward looking and flexible) and emphasizes the collaborative imperative of creative innovation (open spaces where possible, industrial and functional over “finished”).
