Kiewit subsidiary, Ganotec, completed mechanical and piping work for Petro-Canada during the shutdown of the fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU) and the vapor recovery unit (VRU) at the Montréal Refinery.
In 2008, TIC, a subsidiary of Kiewit, completed installation of a refurbished coker unit that was dismantled by TIC at a California refinery and relocated by Sinclair to Wyoming. TIC installed a total of eight major systems for this particular project: coker unit, two sulfur recovery units, two amine recovery units, sour water stripper, coke handling system, and 180 ft. flare system. TIC also built the entire project footprint—foundations, paving, structural steel, coker derrick structure, and several decks.
Kiewit completed Pine Bend Phases I and II as part of a larger project to produce ultralow-sulfur diesel fuels and convert diesel fuel to gasoline, allowing the client to meet growing market demands.
Cherne, a subsidiary of Kiewit, has been working on major projects at the Wood River Refinery since 1997. Most recently, Cherne oversaw construction and construction management for the CORE Project after successful completion of a new hydrocrakcer and ultra light diesel units at this same refinery location.
In addition to site work, Kiewit Offshore Services Fabricated 32 modules weighing 15,000 tons for the CORE Project.
Kiewit has a 43-year track record working for The Dow Chemical Company throughout the United States. Work includes routine and general maintenance, turnarounds, small capital projects and large capital improvements.
Kiewit Offshore Services fabricated 39 refinery modules at the Ingleside facility to alleviate the workforce needed on site at the Texas City Refinery.
TIC, a subsidiary of Kiewit, has completed six projects at the Commerce City Refinery since 1993 including the construction of a water treatment plant, sour crude low sulfur diesel unit, hydrogen unit addition, and diesel hydrotreater unit conversion.
In 2012, Cherne, a subsidiary of Kiewit, completed work on three process units: sour water stripping unit, sulfur recovery unit, tail gas treating unit.
TIC, a subsidiary of Kiewit, performed mechanical installation of two separate, Linde designed and furnished sulfur recovery units in 2006.
Completed in 2010, Kiewit fabricated 80 modules for the crude expansion project in Port Arthur, Texas. A total of 19 barge shipments were made over an 11-month period. Modules were bolted construction consisting of both pipe racks and process units.
