Lauritzen Gardens Conservatory
Omaha, Nebraska
The world-class Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory added almost 20,000 SF to the visitor and education center at Lauritzen Gardens. Of that total, 10,000 SF are dedicated to tropical plants, and 5,000 SF to temperate plants.
Visitors who enter the conservatory through the visitor’s center pass a waterfall before encountering the largest of the building’s three sections: the tropical exhibit. From there, visitors can meander along paths that include a gradual climb leading to the temperate zone. There is also a floral gallery space used for rotating displays and events with a capacity to seat about 75 people.
The Lauritzen Gardens Conservatory is a greenhouse facility used primarily for growing plants in a controlled and protected environment.
