Fields Point LNG Facility
Providence, Rhode Island
Kiewit engineered, procured, constructed, commissioned and started up this small-scale natural gas treatment and liquefaction facility at the existing Fields Point peak shaving plant. With a capacity of 20 million standard cubic feet per day, this addition provided safe, reliable and cost-effective means for meeting peak demand.
Our scope of work included gas pretreatment, compression and nitrogen cycle liquefaction with electric-driven compressors. With careful planning and interfaces, this work was performed in and around the existing facility without plant shutdowns.
Kiewit’s innovative construction approach included elevating the site above the 500-year flood level in challenging soil conditions.
