Douglas County Justice Center
Omaha, Nebraska
The Douglas County Justice Center includes a new, eight-story, 147,000 SF tower, a new four-story, 65,000 SF Youth Center, and a five-story, 45,000 SF office building renovation collocated on one campus.
The Tower is connected to the existing Hall of Justice complex by a skywalk. The Tower provides space for the Douglas County Juvenile Courts, Juvenile Court Administrator, Juvenile Court Clerk, County Attorney, Public Defender, and community juvenile program spaces. Juvenile Probation is being housed in the renovated office building.
The development of an early partnership between the Owner, Kiewit and Architect permitted a collaborative work environment to develop a list of value management items to meet the Owner’s overall budget.
