Denver Zoo Toyota Elephant Passage
Denver , Colorado
The Denver Zoo project was the redevelopment of approximately 10 acres of existing zoo exhibits and service areas. Major structures within this exhibit include an elephant building, a rhino/tapir building, a gibbon building, a leopard building, an “Asian Pavilion” (multi-species indoor exhibits), a water filtration/hay storage building, a café, a restroom/grounds facility, and a waste management building.
The existing site within the Denver Zoo campus included the demolition of approximately 17 existing structures. Fifty-eight trees were protected during the demolition and construction activities, and 30 trees were relocated within the project boundaries of the zoo campus.
The Denver Zoo Toyota Elephant Passage was a LEED Platinum project.
