Deer Valley Airport Taxiway D
Phoenix, Arizona
The Deer Valley Airport Taxiway project consisted of the design and construction of a new Taxiway D (TWY D) located south of Taxiway C (TWY C) at the Phoenix Deer Valley Airport. The hold bars south of RWY 7R/25 were located 150ft south of the runway centerline. The design standard is 250ft, meaning the standard could not be met with the taxiway configuration without blocking traffic on TWY C. The addition of TWY D as recommended in the DVT Master Plan Update solved this problem. The project was constructed in phases consistent with FAA grant funding availability. The scope of this project included: relocation of the main electrical vault, expansion of the existing vault room and an additional regulator, new signage and LED lighting for new Taxiway D, the construction of connectors and shoulders, relocating Taxiway C hold bars, and existing helicopter landing pads, and improvements to existing drainage. The Project was delivered on time and under budget.
