Bellevue Medical Center - Bellevue, Neb.
The Bellevue Medical Center is a 265,000-square-foot facility designed and built to offer comprehensive patient services, including emergency care, obstetrics, inpatient and outpatient surgery, intensive care, cardiac catheterization, pharmacy, radiology and laboratory testing. It is the first full-service hospital in Bellevue, Neb.
A new medical office building added another 60,000 square feet to the project. Located next to the main hospital, it enhances patient care and convenience by providing additional areas for clinics and offering state-of-the-art diagnostic services to assist physicians in prompt diagnosis and treatment.
The Center was built directly adjacent to a natural wetland on a 20-acre site. Kiewit performed extensive site work, including erosion and sedimentation control, landscaping, grading, earthwork, paving and utilities. Green design elements were incorporated throughout the project, and the project was awarded LEED® Certification. Reduced energy consumption and water conservation make the hospital 20 percent more energy efficient than a conventional hospital.
