Alaska Airlines New Hangar
Anchorage, Alaska
Alaska Airlines handles approximately 85% of all commercial airline flights in and out of Alaska, and was in need of a new dual-bay hangar.
Kiewit constructed the new 100,800 SF facility, which includes a two-story ancillary space, open-concept offices, training/locker rooms, dispatch room, fabrication shop, tools and parts storage, retail shop, reception area, and 4,000 SF of covered parking. Mechanical features include aircraft exhaust fans, de-stratification fans, radiant-floor heating, five vertical fabric hangar doors, apron paving, and lighting. This dual-bay aircraft maintenance hangar was designed to accommodate Alaska Airlines’ Boeing 737 Max 9s.
Kiewit led this project to completion by teaming with qualified people, capitalizing on relevant experience, and building trusted relationships.
