30 Crossing
Little Rock, Arkansas
Kiewit is leading a joint venture to reconstruct I-30 over the Arkansas River, which includes demolishing the old river bridge and building a new structure to hold twice the capacity.
The 30 Crossing project, ARDOT’s first design-build effort, has been designed to improve congestion and access to downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock, one of Arkansas’ most congested highways. The project scope includes reconstruction of I-30 through downtown Little Rock from the I-630 through I-40 interchanges and constructing two bridges supporting 12 traffic lanes over the Arkansas River to support 120,000 vehicles per day. Reconstruction of numerous side streets and bridges is also taking place along the three-mile urban corridor.
