Gulf Intracoastal Waterway West Closure Complex
The Kiewit-led joint venture team delivered the $1 billion Gulf Intracoastal Waterway West Closure Complex, featuring one of the world’s largest drainage pump stations and a massive navigable floodgate. Working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the team completed the project in just 22 months, finishing millions of dollars under budget. This critical storm surge protection system safeguards New Orleans and surrounding communities.
San Fernando Groundwater Remediation Project
In rehabilitating the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s groundwater basin, several pumps were added to assist in the treatment and increase of water supply over the next 20 to 30 years. The facilities support 80% of the region’s water resources and serve as a long-term plan to replenish and store contaminated groundwater.
