WORLD-CLASS PLASTICS FACILITY

OLEFINS RECOVERY   |  FEED TO EPC

In 2017, Kiewit partnered with Chiyoda for this FEED to EPC opportunity for what would soon become a 1.8 MTPA ethylene plant in Gregory, Texas, known as GCGV. This plant has eight ethane cracking furnaces, an olefins recovery united and integrated utilities.

In 2018, CKJV, a partnership between Kiewit and Chiyoda, was awarded the EPC contract to design and build the plant on the Texas Gulf Coast. This plastics manufacturing facility, featuring the world’s largest ethane steam cracker unit, is also the first-of-its-kind large-scale modularized ethane plant.

PROPANE DEHYDROGENATION

Kiewit constructed a propane dehydrogenation facility, including pipe fabrication and module assembly. The scope included 170 pipe rack modules fabricated in multiple yards and pipe fabrication facilities.

RENEWABLE FUELS FACILITY

Kiewit was the general contractor for re-purposing an oil refinery complex into one of the world’s largest renewable fuels plants, producing 800 million gallons per year of renewable diesel, renewable gasoline and sustainable aviation fuel.

METHANE PYROLYSIS / AMMONIA FEED

Kiewit was contracted to perform a pre- and front-end engineering design studies for a 160,000 TPY carbon black facility.
