Kiewit and joint venture partner IHI were awarded an EPC contract for the Cove Point LNG Export Project, which involves construction of liquefaction facilities for exporting LNG at the existing Cove Point LNG Terminal on the Chesapeake Bay in Lusby, MD. Together, the new and existing facilities will provide bi-directional import and export capabilities at Cove Point.
The team of Kiewit Australia and Ertech was awarded the general services contract for the Wheatstone LNG project located in Ashburton, Western Australia. Kiewit’s scope includes installation and maintenance of underground and aboveground utilities, construction and maintenance of roads and laydown areas, site support, and procurement of materials.
TIC, a subsidiary of Kiewit, performed marine and heavy civil construction for phases 2 and 3 of the LNG terminal’s expansion project.
Commissioned in 2008 and constructed by a Kiewit-led partnership, this liquefied natural gas terminal was the first constructed in Canada. The jetty spans 300 metres offshore and is equipped to receive liquefied natural gas from the largest tankers in the world.
