This project involved a total facility overhaul of an underground command center at Offutt Air Force Base. The project included dismantling and reconstructing the mechanical and electrical systems and a total architectural makeover.
The Clayton Educare facility is equipped with classrooms and administrative offices to provide underprivileged children and their parents a place to develop a solid foundation for future learning. Kiewit constructed a 32,000-squre-foot child development center and remodeled an existing 8,700-square-foot historical dormitory, transforming it into a teacher training center.
The Creighton Prep Heider Center project consisted of adding a 78,000-square-foot sports and recreation facility to the east side of the existing school building. The Heider Center is one of the largest, most comprehensive high school athletic venues in the region. The new facility includes a three-court gymnasium, weight room, technology classrooms and baseball stadium. The addition and renovation was the biggest upgrade to the school since its construction in the 1950s.
The Creighton University Brandeis Dining Hall Renovation was a design-assist, fast-track project completed in 89 calendar days while the building was occupied. The project renovated an existing cafeteria-style dining hall in to a modern-day food court with individual food-type stations. In addition, the project provided air conditioning to the main kitchen, upgraded the building’s electrical system and relocated the public restrooms.
Kiewit constructed the $7.8 million Hickam Air Force Base Dormitory and the $5.2 million Hickam Hanger Complex for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The dormitory is a three-story, 38,300-square-foot building that houses enlisted military personnel. Construction of the hangar included upgrading the fire alarm and sprinkler systems for Hangars 34 and 35.
Completed by Kiewit under a design-assist contract, the Island Pacific Academy was the first private school built in Kapolei. The $4.7 million, two-story, 28,000-square foot school accommodates pre-kindergarten through sixth grade students and provides a nearby alternative to the private schools in Honolulu.
The Merle Catherine Chambers Center for the Advancement of Women is a 32,000-square-foot, three-story building, viewed as a signature on the University of Denver campus. It is inspired by Santo Spiritio in Florence and is adorned with a large, round stained glass window set in limestone, detailed with a spiral derived from the mathematical pattern known as the golden mean.
Completed at a total cost of $27 million, this 120,000-square-foot, three-story building has a strong presence on the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus. Mammel Hall includes administrative and faculty areas, classrooms and public spaces.
This building program covered the construction of 11 technology and data centers across the country. All data centers were designed and built to meet "Five Nines" (99.999%) reliability standards.
The PKI Holland Computing Center included the retrofit of existing computer classroom space into data center space. The project included the installation of two new generators and 1,500 KVA/450KW UPS system. An APC in row cooling and power distribution system was also installed.
