Biogas Processing Plants

Kiewit subsidiary, Cherne Contracting Corporation, constructed three biogas processing plants at existing 8,000 milking cow equivalent dairies. The project scope involved the installation of four biodigesters, one gas upgrade membrane skid and a truck-loading skid. The goal was to convert dairy farm manure into pipeline-quality natural gas using anaerobic digesters and natural gas membrane upgrade skids. The site processes approximately 250,000 gallons of manure slurry per day and produces approximately 300 standard cubic feet per minute of pipeline-quality renewable natural gas.
