Calcasieu Pass LNG Project
Cameron, Louisiana
Kiewit is engineering, procuring, constructing and commissioning a 10.7-million-tons-per-annum greenfield LNG production and export facility in Southern Louisiana. The efficient, modular liquefaction technology will allow the client to minimize capital costs and provide a long-term, low-cost source of North American natural gas. Among the steps taken to meet our client’s goal, we phased our commissioning plan, which increased schedule efficiency and will allow for LNG production only 25 months from the final investment decision.
The facility includes a pretreatment unit, an 18-train liquefaction system, two 200,000-cubic-meter LNG storage tanks, two vessel loading berths, and a 700-megawatt 5×2 combined cycle power island that is supplemented with an additional 25-megawatt turbine. Additionally, we are fabricating over 70 equipment, pipe rack and stair tower modules at our yard in Ingleside, Texas.
The project team plans to self-perform over 10.3 million hours with a manpower peak of 2,700.
