The project involved upgrading the Orange County Wastewater Treatment Plant by constructing the Secondary Activated Sludge Facility 2 at Plant Number 1, adding 60 MGD of capacity. The project scope involved construction of a blower building, modification of the existing bleach building, a power building, a clarifier electrical building, numerous pipe galleries, installation of pre-cast piles and H-beam shoring; and miscellaneous site flow distribution structures.
One of the largest facilities in California to incorporate the biological nitrogen removal (BNR) process.
