Keystone Pipeline Pump Stations
Multiple Locations, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK
Kiewit subsidiary, TIC, constructed 18 pump stations and associated work for the Keystone Pipeline program. Keystone’s original pipeline system included a total of 39 pump stations delivering up to 590,000 barrels per day of oil from Canada’s Alberta oil fields and the Bakken formation to refineries across the U.S. Midwest.
For phase 1, TIC completed the grass roots construction of nine pump stations including 5,000-horsepower motors and centrifugal pumps throughout North Dakota and South Dakota.
For phase 2, TIC installed additional mainline pumps at 16 existing pump stations from North Dakota through Kansas. TIC also performed grassroots construction of two pump stations consisting of 6,500-horsepower motors and centrifugal pumps in Kansas and Oklahoma, and associated civil, concrete, electrical, instrumentation and insulation work.
