In 2004, Kiewit Pacific Co., a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, was awarded this $28.4 million contract to construct three new buildings at Hickman Air Force Base. Work elements for this 14-month project included a 14,000-sq.-ft. flight simulator facility, a 38,000-sq.-ft. squadron operations facility, and a 24,000-sq.-ft. consolidated maintenance complex.
Sitework operations involved grading, erosion control, site drainage, utilities, paving pedestrian and vehicular circulation systems, landscaping physical security measures and fencing. Fire protection measures included fire alarm systems, automatic fire sprinkler systems, fire rated partitions, doors and hardware, and fire rated construction and exit signs. Environmental protection measures installed will protect land, water, wildlife and air resources, in addition to historical, archeological and cultural resources and protect against sounds intrusions.
