Hines Chiller Study and Owner's Engineering - Bartow, Florida
Kiewit provided owner's engineering services to Duke Energy for their Hines Energy Complex. The scope included a technology and feasibility study and subsequent delivery of owner specifications for EPC delivery of a combustion turbine inlet chilling system.
Kiewit developed a two-phase plan to execute the project. Phase 1 was a system study, including a technology assessment and selection; engineering, procurement and construction cost estimate; project schedule; and performance modeling for a combustion turbine inlet chilling system. In Phase 2, Kiewit developed drawings and EPC request for proposal for supply and installation of inlet chilling equipment to meet the performance baselines established during the Phase 1 system study.
Kiewit previously worked with Duke Energy to design and build power blocks III and IV in the Hines Energy Complex.
