Palomar Energy Center - Escondido, CA

The Kiewit team was awarded the contract to engineer, procure, construct and startup the 554-megawatt combined cycle power plant with two GE 7FA combustion turbines, a GE D11 steam turbine with downflow exhaust, a Nooter/Eriksen heat recovery steam generator and a seven cell cooling tower.

Panoche Energy Project - Firebaugh, CA

The Kiewit team was awarded the contract to engineer, procure and construct the 400-megawatt simple cycle power plant with four GE LMS100 natural gas-fired combustion turbines.

Pine Tree Wind Farm - Tehachapi, CA

Kiewit Pacific Co. is constructing a $146 million project for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Pine Tree Wind Farm will be the largest city-owned and operated wind farm in the U.S., and the wind farm will produce enough energy to power 56,000 homes.

Progress Energy Duct Bank - St. Petersburg, FL

The $42 million Progress Energy project included procuring and installing four miles of a 16-duct utility in the corridor from the Bartow power plant to its northeast substation.

Rutherford Creek Power Project - Pemberton, BC

This 50-MW hydroelectric plant produces a non-consumptive, non-polluting and renewable form of energy for some 7,000 households. Built under an engineer-procure-construct contract, Peter Kiewit Sons Co. completed the project with minimal impacts to the surrounding landscape.

Springerville Unit 4 AQCS - Springerville, AZ

The Kiewit team was awarded the contract to construct and install the spray dryer absorber to the 400-megawatt coal-fired power plant. As part of the plant expansion, the client also upgraded emission controls on Units 1 and 2. The result will be the combined emissions from all four units will be less than the original two units.
