Through our subsidiary Kiewit Federal Group Inc., headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, we provide services to governmental agencies including the Department of Defense and Department of Energy. This $16.7 million design-build project involves construction of a bulk fuel storage facility, a 20-person dormitory, and vehicle and range maintenance bays. The 2,800-sq.-meter complex has its own water, septic, power generation, communications, and fire protection systems.
This $56 million project for the U.S. Navy involved renovating and constructing 440,000 sq. ft. of base structures. New construction included a tactical support facility housing a training center and flight simulator, helicopter pads, and training and hazardous waste facilities. All work was performed while minimizing impacts to the Navy's existing adjacent operations.
This $28.4 million project to construct three new buildings at Hickman Air Force Base included a flight simulator facility, squadron operations facility and consolidated maintenance complex. The 14-month project included extensive environmental conservation measures to protect land, water, wildlife and air resources.
Constructed for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, these aircraft weather shelters feature drive-through aircraft bays with mechanical/electrical support, tool storage, and administration areas. The 63-ft. by 70-ft. bays are separated by concrete “blast walls” containing all equipment needed for missile loading, fueling, and normal maintenance operations.
The $56 million Puget Sound Carrier Support Complex project included construction of a 1,680-ft.-long by 126-ft.-wide carrier pier and a 470-ft.-long by 144-ft.-wide marginal wharf for escort vessels. Ship service utilities included steam, potable water, sanitary sewer, and shore power electrical service and communications lines.
Kiewit Power Engineers Co. provided design services for this U.S. Army Corps of Engineers design-build project, which included two vehicle maintenance shops, two hazardous waste storage buildings, two fuel storage buildings, a 791,000-sq.-ft. hardstand area, and vehicle maintenance repair bays with anti-terrorism/force protection features.
