Kiewit Power Adds Management Team Member at Lenexa Office

Lenexa, KS — Kiewit Power Engineers Co. recently announced the addition of Robert D. Adkins to its management team. As Assistant Director of Strategic Planning, Adkins is responsible for researching power markets and other information that will provide business intelligence to gain a competitive advantage in the North American power industry.

Adkins joined the company in October 2008. He has more than 15 years of experience in the electric and natural gas utility industries in the areas of energy forecasting, market research and strategic planning. He is currently an active member of industry organizations and research groups, including the Edison Electric Institute Economics Committee, Association of Energy Engineers and Cambridge Energy Research Associates. Adkins has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Outside of work, Adkins enjoys singing tenor with church choirs in the Kansas City area and in international concerts with the North American Welsh Choir. He also participates with his wife in cultural events with the American Harp Society, Welsh Harp & Heritage Society, St. David’s Welsh Society, Kansas City Symphony, Kansas City Ballet, and Lyric Opera.
