Kiewit Energy Canada

Overview

Jobs Done Well

Kiewit Energy Canada Corp., a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, is a major industrial contractor based in Calgary, Alberta. Since the early 1940s, Kiewit has built projects throughout the western provinces, from British Columbia to Manitoba and the Northwest territories.

Today, the oil, gas and energy markets are expanding rapidly in Canada, particularly in Western Canada. To meet these needs, we provide a wide range of engineering, procurement and construction services to the oil, gas, chemical, ethanol and related process industries. Our projects involve construction of oil sands processing facilities, including steam–assisted gravity drainage facilities, refinery expansions, gas plant expansions, co–generation facilities, major mine developments and pipe spool fabrication. Our proactive management controls, which focus on accurate projections of costs and schedules, identification of safety hazards and preventative maintenance of equipment, contribute to our ability to build projects at the lowest cost while staying on schedule–without sacrificing quality.

Kiewit established Kiewit Energy Canada as its subsidiary to better serve the diverse and expanding energy market.

Our Beginning

Kiewit’s portfolio of oil and gas projects in Canada include such projects as the Irving Oil Refinery Expansion and the Suncor Ore Preparation project, the Husky White Rose Topsides project and the Apache Canada Hamburg Gas Plant Expansion project. Recognizing the need better serve the diverse and expanding energy market , in December, 2003 the company established Kiewit Energy Canada as a subsidiary with an office in downtown Calgary, Alberta. In 2006, Kiewit Energy Canada finished construction of its world-class pipe fabrication and module assembly facility on 63 acres of land in Edmonton, Alberta.

Today

Kiewit Energy Canada currently has more than 200 staff and a head office that now covers more than 16,000 square feet.

The fabrication and module assembly facility in Edmonton has expanded to cover 50 acres and further expansions are in the works to develop the remaining 13 acres as well as additional infrastructure.

Kiewit Energy Canada has developed a solid reputation with key clients and is poised to share in the success to come while serving Western Canada's oil and gas industry.
