Holland Performing Arts Center
Completed in October 2005 by Kiewit Construction Company, this award-winning, design-assist project features a unique exterior that allows natural light to filter in during the day. Located in downtown Omaha, the building includes a concert hall, recital hall, two lobbies, covered arrival plaza and outdoor performance area and event garden.
Pacific Aviation Museum
The Pacific Aviation Museum is one of the country’s leading aviation museums and the only one dedicated to the freedom of the Pacific. Built by Kiewit Building Group Inc., the 42,000-square-foot museum has fighter planes, a food court, gift shop, theatre and a simulated flight game for all ages.
Henry Doorly Zoo - Desert Dome
The 13-story-tall Desert Dome, the world's largest glazed geodesic dome, replicates environments of the Namib Desert in western Africa, the Great Sandy Desert in Australia and the Sonoran Desert in the southwestern United States. The $16.5 million project includes a sand waterfall, a 50-ft. mountain, canyons, a cactus forest, and desert flora and fauna.
Henry Doorly Zoo Hubbard Gorilla Valley Complex
The new Hubbard Gorilla Valley Complex enhances the zoo’s reputation in gorilla conservation by expanding the gorilla population and providing areas for reproductive research and health programs. Kiewit Construction Company ensured every piece of the caging partitions and hardware were field measured and custom fabricated to fit the concrete openings and exposed piping.
Qwest Center Omaha Convention Center and Arena
This $187 million convention center and arena provides space for a range of activities including hockey, basketball, concerts and formal events. Completed in September 2003, the Qwest Center Omaha covers approximately 100 city blocks and includes an exhibit hall, ballroom, atrium, kitchen, meeting rooms and breakout areas.
