Kiewit has been a leader in the construction and mining industries throughout Canada since the early 1940s. Canadian Resources District was formed in 2007 to better serve Canada’s hydroelectric and mining development markets.
Canadian Resources District will build upon Kiewit’s reputation for successfully delivering on time and within budget some of Canada’s largest and most challenging projects, from the LG-4, LA-1 and LG-1 powerhouses in James Bay; the marine excavation for the Manic 5 hydropower complex; the construction of the Grand-Mère Powerhouse; to the infrastructure development of the Voisey’s Bay, Diavik and Raglan mines.
Our projects include hydroelectric facilities, such as Wuskwatim Generating Station in Thompson, Manitoba mining infrastructure developments including the Diavik Diamond Mine Dykes A-154 and A-418 in the Northwest Territories and major earthmoving projects such as the Shikwamkwa Dam Replacement in Wawa, Ontario.
We have extensive resources including talented people, in-depth market knowledge, equipment and unparalleled experience, making us uniquely qualified to handle any size project.
Canadian Resources District conducts its operations through Construction Kiewit Cie and Peter Kiewit Sons Co., both subsidiaries of Kiewit Corporation.
